4/30/2023 0 Comments Printing collateIn the printing world, the terms collated and uncollated are often used when discussing the specifications of a print job. Watch your collated documents come to life Provided the pages within your document have similar characteristics, collating. Usually, it’s depicted by a symbol containing three stacked pieces of paper. How to print multiple copies or use the collate feature within the Windows printer driver 1. Select Print to bring up the dialogue box or preview. If you have a document that includes multiple pages, it is important to understand the difference between these two key words before submitting your project for print. Let’s start with the basic definition of these terms.Ĭollate means to collect, arrange or assemble in a specific order of sequence. Usually to prepare a document for binding into a booklet, manual, presentation, etc. If you need 10 copies of an 8-page booklet, choosing to print collated will give you the 10 copies with the 8 pages already in order and ready to go.Īlternately, printing uncollated would mean the opposite. Printing this same document uncollated will print the first page 10 times, the second page 10 times, and so on. You will have to re-order your booklet by hand. Whether you are printing at home or with an online printing company, collating your print document is going to be more beneficial in most cases. If your print job is considered to be one entity in and of itself, such as a magazine, booklet, program, catalog, etc., then it makes the most sense to print collated. You wouldn’t want these pages to be printed at random where you would have to spend valuable time reorganizing. These types of projects are also usually collated in preparation for binding, whether it’s a simple stapled spine or something more extensive. Here at PrintingCenterUSA, we offer a lot of binding options for your collated project, such as perfect bound, saddle-stitch, spiral or wire-o binding. If your print document is a flyer, poster, fact sheet, brochure or some other type of single print out, it may be more useful to print uncollated. Your print file might contain 5 pages that explain 5 different types of products that you will be promoting at a booth, conference, convention or trade show. Having your flyers arranged by product would make it easier to target your customer’s interests. This same idea also makes sense for handling print documents for business presentations, classroom lectures and more. There are many reasons why you might want to print something either collated or uncollated, bound or unbound. It’s your project and any online printing center will help you achieve your end goal. It’s a decision of convenience – not money! The good news is that choosing to print collated or uncollated usually does not have an effect on the overall price of your print job.

4/30/2023 0 Comments Free feedyPut whatever you’re going to feed them down for 10 to 15 minutes – or just pull it up after they eat some and leave. Set your cat up to be successful! Determine how much food your cat(s) will eat at one sitting. A meal is where all of the food is consumed in one sitting. Free-feeding is when food is left behind after eating. The average daily consumption is how much food or how many calorie equivalent your cat should initially eat during the transition.Ģ) Determine how much food your cat will eat at one meal. Record how much food is eaten each 24 hours for one week. The same time the next day, measure how much food is left. Refill the dishes, but again, measure the total amount of food that is out. The same time the next day, before you clean and refill dishes, measure how much food is left. Assuming you are free-feeding kibble, the method is simple. Designate a “call” that signals to your cat that it IS meal time. Pick a word, phrase or sound, and get your cats associating that word, phrase or sound with coming to eat.ġ) Determine how much food (how many calories) your cat is currently eating in a 24-hour period. Meal time is at THIS time, in THIS place. DO NOT CHASE AFTER YOUR CAT TO GET THEM TO EAT. This should be someplace that is as different as possible from where their free-fed kibble is or was – but a place where you want them eating: a different part of the kitchen (or whatever) is fine. Designate a specific AREA where meals are fed. This is part of the routine: an established place for eating meals. If you work, you may need to leave the kibble out (or out part time) at first to ensure your cat is eating enough calories daily. If you are usually home during the day, and you can feed 8 or 10 small meals over the course of a day (at first), you’ll be able to pull that free-fed kibble sooner. Feed meals as close to the same time every day as possible (at least during the transition). Establish a routine for the TIMING of meals. Determine when and how often you can feed meals based on your schedule. The components of establishing “meal time” are: Obviously critical to a successful transition to timed meals is getting those nibblers to eat enough food AT meals. The Key to a Successful Transition: The Concept of Meals The road to better health is a journey, not a race. THAT they eat is more important than WHAT they eat until they are reliably eating enough food at timed meals. The way to avoid this is to ensure your cat is eating enough calories during any transition. This is essential. It is VERY important that your cat eat enough food during the transition to either a new food or timed meals. Cats are not metabolically designed to use fat stores, and their livers easily get overwhelmed with fat, causing a disease called Hepatic Lipidosis (fatty liver). Hunger, however, IS good for them (and a motivator in this process).
4/30/2023 0 Comments Table turntableWe found that, in this price range, neither method has a clear advantage. The common belief is that the direct-drive method provides better speed accuracy because it drives the platter directly, while the belt-drive method better isolates records and cartridges from motor noise and vibration. (The all-in-one record players we tested all use the belt-drive method.) Many enthusiasts are convinced of the superiority of one or the other. Drive method: We considered belt-drive and direct-drive models for this guide and didn’t care which method a turntable used. Some turntables and record players have Bluetooth transmitters to stream your vinyl collection to a receiver, speaker, or pair of headphones. Many also include analog audio inputs to connect other audio sources, and a few even come with a digital input intended for connection to a TV set. Bluetooth and other connections: Most all-in-one record players now include a Bluetooth receiver, which lets you play music from a phone, tablet, or computer through the built-in speakers.Stereo speakers will almost certainly sound better and more spacious, but we think most people buying an all-in-one player will want a single component instead of a system. Speakers: For the all-in-one record players, we focused on models that have built-in speakers rather than a separate set of stereo speakers. In our testing, we’ve always used an external phono stage (built into a receiver) so there would be one less variable involved. But since so many audio receivers already have one, we don’t consider it mandatory (and you can buy an external phono preamp for $50 to $100). Having a built-in phono preamp makes it easier to add the turntable to any existing system that has an analog audio input-be it an audio receiver, a soundbar, or a pair of powered speakers-without having to purchase any additional equipment. Some turntables have one built in some do not. This process is handled by a phono preamp. Phono preamp: The signal from a phono cartridge must be amplified and equalized to be compatible with normal stereo systems or powered speakers. If you aren’t listening to your 45 rpm records because changing the speed is a pain, or if you have to worry that you’ll forget to stop the player and cause extra wear on the needle, you aren’t getting enjoyment from it. Ease of use: Convenience features, like easy switching between speeds and a tonearm that automatically returns, become more important the longer you own a turntable. The ability to easily upgrade the cartridge to improve sound quality is also valuable. Ease of setup: Turntables that ask you to mount a cartridge, that need a separate stylus gauge, or that require advanced alignment of the cartridge can be hard for a vinyl novice to set up well. While most of these speakers are pretty cheap, some new models incorporate speakers with separate woofers and tweeters for better sound. All-in-one record players have the same issues, but they add speakers into the equation. Records can occasionally have pops, which some turntables are better at suppressing. Some turntables have better speed accuracy than others. Some have better bass with more detail and separation, while some do better with vocals. Sound quality: There is far more variation in sound quality between turntables than there is between digital music players. We stuck with the same price limit when considering all-in-one record players, although almost all of them cost much less than $600. In other words, a $1,000 turntable may sound better, but the improvements from spending $600 versus $250 are much greater than those from spending $1,000 (and up) versus $600. People after a high-end turntable can easily spend $2,000, $5,000, or even $45,000 (or more), but we’ve found that $600 marks a point of diminishing returns. Price: For dedicated turntables, we looked at those priced around $600 or less. 4/30/2023 0 Comments Rodent rage comicAnd for the record, those wishing death to the groundhog will be waiting for a long, long time. "Superman is an immigrant from another planet who is basically an Americanized ubermensch with all the American values that we pretend to hold dear, like fighting for truth, justice and - God help us - the American way," Spiegelman explained. He pointed to Superman, the original modern comic book superhero, created by two Jewish immigrants "recapitulating their own fantasies and traumas into the world," albeit in the pop-culture wrappings of the time. Maus exploded into popularity, reaching audiences who weren't familiar with the underground comix scene and who weren't familiar with the medium's explorations of personal trauma.īut Spiegelman says comics don't need to explicitly reference real-life tragedies like the Holocaust to be "serious." Critical Duty, as the name implies, was designed with law enforcement in mind, though security-conscious citizens would be amiss not to at least consider it. The nickel-plated cases are another attention to detail nod that limits drag into or out of a weapon’s chamber, limiting chances for failure to feed or extract. The ogives of the Critical Duty bullets do not taper as much as other hollow-point bullets, which improves feeding characteristics in autoloaders. The FlexLock bullet nose prevents the hollow-point from deforming or clogging when passing through barriers. Variety of 10mm Auto ammunition was accessed for use in evaluating Glock G40. Hornady Critical Duty passed all five of the FBI’s barrier criteria tests, giving 12 inches plus of penetration no matter if through glass, sheet metal, heavy clothing, drywall, or plywood, while still expanding for maximum wound channel as well as not passing through the ballistic gel test medium. The Hornady Critical Duty FlexLock bullet balances barrier penetration with proper expansion in the target for maximum effectiveness. Hornady has also taken full advantage of recent advances in propellant technology, using low muzzle flash powder in Critical Duty ammunition. The jackets are locked to the core via the same InterLock process the company uses on its centerfire rifle bullets. The Critical Duty’s FlexLock bullets have a heavy jacket and a harder high-antimony core designed to defeat barriers. These Hornady loads were designed with personal defense in mind, with XTP and Critical Defense bullets loaded at 1,150 to 1,250 fps. Buffalo Bore hard-cast loads are an excellent option for anyone contemplating using the 10mm Auto for hunting. Hard-cast bullets are not “lead” bullets as most associate with the term. True hard-cast bullets (as opposed to lead swaged bullets) that are properly lubed will not lead foul polygonal barrels any more than any other type of rifled barrel. This goes against typical warnings related to lead bullets and is because of the differences between soft lead “cowboy” bullets and hard-cast bullets. The group - with Ron Wood having replaced Taylor on guitar in 1975 - hadn’t played live in several months and the first night was shaky. While ultimately a deal was reached and Richards received only a suspended sentence, that outcome was far in the future during these dramatic shows. Seeking to spice up a forthcoming live album with some clubbier tracks, the Stones had booked two secret shows at Toronto’s legendary, 300-capacity El Mocambo nightclub - and just days before the concerts, Richards and longtime paramour Anita Pallenberg were busted at the border with heroin. Their concerts had suffered as well, with their 1975-’76 sets meandering toward the three-hour mark, loaded with subpar songs from the above albums and even a dozen-minute, de facto intermission set from Preston (who, although a fine singer and one of the greatest keyboardists of the era, had taken an outsized role in the band).īut if one thing can snap a band out of a daze, it’s the prospect of its guitarist, co-songwriter and musical cornerstone - Richards - facing many years in a Canadian prison on drug charges, which is exactly the circumstances under which this unusual and remarkable concert was recorded in March of 1977. Consequently, those albums - “Goat’s Head Soup,” “It’s Only Rock n’ Roll” and “Black and Blue,” the latter of which many fans consider a nadir in the band’s career - at times sounded more like fusiony rock or ‘70s funk than the Stones. After the generation-defining singles of the ‘60s and the stellar string of albums running from “Beggars Banquet” to “Exile on Main Street,” they’d eked out three comparatively uninspired sets that, due to Keith Richards’ formidable heroin addiction and its multiple accompanying legal problems, found Mick Jagger seeking musical foils in guitarist Mick Taylor and then guest keyboardist Billy Preston. Like virtually every major rock act in the mid-1970s, the Rolling Stones had become bloated and overblown. |
